I'm mostly looking for one that can use WedDAV or other ways of (self-hosted) nextcloud stored database(s), and one that is able to autofill logins with https basic auth (htpasswd login prompts) in Mozilla Firefox. There's the Tusk add-on, KeepassX, KeepassXC and several others I could pick for firefox But the spread over so many variations is not something I encourage. I've been using KeePass next to LastPass for work off and on, and because others used it and had to share databases, and always thought it was fairly decent, especially considering it's free and open source.
I better leave before LastPass loses my secrets etc.Īlso, I don't like the backing of LogMeIn, which, in my opinion always was a crap corporate entity making unreliable dumbed-down interfaces for a non-techy userbase. They've become deluded with grandeur, and I know all too well where that ends, it's not good. Having been a long time user of LastPass on Android, Windows, Linux, mostly with Firefox, it's hard to leave, but they really messed up their interface with their last update, so I'm fed up with them not listening to user-demand and dumping features onto the userbase without even testing it first.
